Those interested in registering a new business can call 078 7002135.

As the country continues to battle load shedding and water shortages, local non-profit Laqhakaza Iphara Recovery continues with its own battles, trying to help better the lives of South Coast residents who have been putting up a fight against addictions, unemployment and poverty.

“We cannot afford to blame the system, governments and politicians for being homeless, hopeless or jobless,” said the organisation’s Emmanuel Msomi.

“We need to stand up and fight for ourselves as our lives are not in the hands of poverty, and by simply gaining knowledge on how to better ourselves and having a kind heart, we can grow and help others grow from strength to strength.”

Msomi recently collaborated with Siyaphambili Women’s Organisation to help people in the Ugu District register their small businesses, gain knowledge on how to run a business, how to get funding for their business and link them to the South African National Youth Development Agency and Small Enterprise Development Agency, in order for them to be able to assist more people find jobs.

Both the organisations are calling those interested to come forward. However, the business you choose to register, must be something you are passionate about.

“It is difficult to find employment, so let’s get creative and start businesses that we will enjoy doing and rid us of the poverty stigma,” added Emmanuel.

“To those battling addictions, it is your opportunity to overcome alcohol and drug use disorders and come back to your senses, to make a better life for yourself.”

To find out more about this opportunity, contact Lindokuhle Mbili – founder of Siyaphambili Women’s Organisation on 078 7002135.
