DA awaits elections to govern KZN
According to KZN DA leader Francois Rodgers, come May 29 provincial and national elections, the DA will take over the KZN government.
The DA in KZN believes that the political ground is fertile for it to take over the administration of the province after the May 29 national and provincial elections.
This sentiment was shared by the KZN DA leader, Francois Rodgers, during his Human Rights Day commemoration address in front of scores of members at the Uvongo Town Hall.

“Power to the DA come May 29 provincial and national elections, the DA will take over the KZN government.
Research shows that the ANC will get 28% of the vote, this is a very good opportunity for the DA to govern in the province,” said Rodgers.
He said after the elections, the ANC will no longer be in power in KZN or the national government.
“We have seen the KZN ANC chairperson Siboniso Duma disrespecting the Zulu Traditional Prime Minister Thulasizwe Buthelezi by grabbing his mic during the 110th commemoration of King Dinuzulu ka Cetshwayo held at KwaCeza in Nongoma recently.

“We saw Duma disrespecting Buthelezi and his Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini because he knows the ANC will no longer be in power after May 29. Duma bring those 100 cows to King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as your apology or fine for your disrespect of the King and Zulu Prime Minister,” said Rodgers.
He also said the DA is ready to govern and has a plan to administer KZN and that the party has a good track record where it governs.
“The DA governs well and is the only party that has a governance unit. We have our turn-around strategy to bring about change in KZN. Please elect Chris Pappas for KZN Premier and rescue the province from the corrupt ANC government,” said Rodgers.

Referred to as the incoming premier, KZN DA deputy leader and Umgeni Local Municipality mayor, Chris Pappas, addressed members and urged them to vote DA and vote out the ANC.
“If something does not work for you, you change it. In 1994 we got our political freedom, but now we need economic freedom, we want a DA-led government that will create 300 000 jobs by promoting business investments that will grow the economy. We will fix Eskom, stop load shedding and water shedding in Ugu,” said Pappas.
He said in Ugu, people have cried for water for 15 years, but the ANC government failed them – although it received water budgets every year from the national and provincial governments.
“We will stop corruption and fight crime by establishing our provincial police and have them here in Ugu. We have an opportunity to hire the DA to govern KZN and dismiss the ANC on May 29. Let’s vote DA and invite our friends to do the same because democracy needs all of us to participate. We govern well in Umgeni. We govern well in 36 municipalities and the Western Cape. It’s time for us to govern in KZN and rescue it,” said Pappas.
