Actors graduate at glitzy ‘Oscars’
Mid SCH Local News | Auditions for an upcoming comedy film opens soon.

It was a night of glitz and glamour for the Bruce Gounder Film Academy, in association with the Umkomaas Performing Arts Company (UMPAC) at the Italian Club, Umkomaas last weekend.
Acting students were awarded graduation certificates at the first-of-its-kind black tie event for local actors on the South Coast.
The event was described by the attendees as a local version of the Oscars as it was well organised.
“We had a few VIP guests, our actors, some performers including musicians and singers and it was a full house,” said the film academy’s Bruce Gounder.
There were also some great performances from the academy and UMPAC actors who went in-depth with method acting.
The public should take note that auditions for an upcoming comedy film, Dreamy Dave, will open at the academy on Marine Drive, Park Rynie on April 20.
The movie will commence with shooting in July in Scottburgh, Umkomaas and Margate.
