Four dead in single vehicle crash near Port Shepstone

Rescue personnel responded as fast as possible.

Four people died and another was injured in a single vehicle accident which took place on the N2 near Port Shepstone yesterday (Saturday) morning.

According to KwaZulu Private Ambulance (KZPA), the driver of the bakkie involved in the accident lost control with the result that it rolled and overturned.

Four of five people in the vehicle were killed. KZPA said they died before emergency services arrived and that a fifth person was treated for serious injuries.

Gavin Black, advance life support paramedic from M17, said the jaws of life had to be used by members of the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality’s Fire Department to extricate one of the people trapped in the vehicle.
