Thieves sniffed out by security officers in Tweni and Oslo beach

From house breaking to stripping copper pipes, security officers from Lazer 911 have made a number of arrests in the last month.

An intruder who broke into a home in Umtentweni was chased down and arrested yesterday afternoon (May 30).
Lazer 911 Control Centre received a call for assistance from a non-client on a Tweni CPF group, reporting a break-in.
Lazer 911 reaction officer, Christian Cele immediately responded to the address.
As Cele approached the property, the intruder attempted to flee. But, he gave chase.
He was joined by members from the local Community Police Forum, and the thief was handed over to the police.

In a separate case, Lazer 911 Control Centre received a panic activation from their client in Rathbonville Road, Oslo beach.
Basil Lanka of Lazer 911 said they were informed by the client that the suspect had stolen cash from the client’s vehicle.
“Lazer reaction officer, Winston Lemon, was immediately dispatched to the client’s premises. CCTV footage was viewed by Lemon and the suspect was located and held in custody until Saps arrived,” he said.

On May 20, Lazer 911 security Control Centre received a call for assistance at an estate in  Oslo beach. Reaction units were immediately dispatched to the estate.

“The client informed our controllers of a man stripping copper pipes and a sink from one of the resident’s property,” said Lanka.

Reaction officer, Rajesh Baburan immediately gave chase and managed to catch the suspect in the nearby bushes, with the help of the resident’s neighbours.

The thief was handed over to police.
