WEATHER UPDATE: Warning of heavy rain and wind for KZN South Coast [WATCH]
Batten down the hatches as bad weather has been predicted until Tuesday.
Heavy rainfall, which was predicted to hit various parts of the country, arrived yesterday (Saturday, June 1) afternoon.
The South Coast has been battered by bad weather in the last few months, and the last 12 hours have been no exception.
Torrential rainfall, wind and thunder have been experienced last night and today (Sunday, June 2).

Reports of motorists aqua-planning over bridges due to massive water puddles have been reported this morning.
Residents are advised to not drive anywhere unless absolutely necessary.
Warnings of bad weather have been released by the South African Weather Services (SAWS).


- Bridge between Port Shepstone and Umtentweni has large puddles of water. There is a risk of aquaplaning, so drive slowly over it.
- Traffic lights in Sea Park are not working.
- Water lying on the bridge between Sea Park/Southport. Drive with caution.
- A pothole opening up on the South end of Damba River bridge near Sunwich Port.
- Pumula bridge completely full of water.
- Places in Bank Street in Margate flooded yesterday evening.
- The bridge on the way to Riversmead in Izotsha has debris on it.
- Sewage flowing onto Margate beach. Not a new situation but the stench is unbearable. Beach shut.
- Manaba Beach Road has been washed away.
- The low lying bridge in Mbango Valley, Marburg is flooded.
