Collision on N2 near Umzumbe leaves woman injured

The accident involved a truck and a bakkie.

Traffic had to be diverted after two vehicles collided on the N2 near Umzumbe this morning.

Gavin Black, from Mi7 Ambulance Service, said a bakkie travelling towards Hibberdene and truck heading south were involved.

“A woman from the bakkie had moderate injuries and was transported to hospital,” he said

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Black said members from Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Fire and Rescue department and Medivac EMS also attended the scene.

“Law enforcement and SAPS attended and diverted traffic on this busy road,” he said.

The exact cause of the accident is to be investigated.
