‘I’m okay’ says delivery man from Mzimkhulu bridge accident

He said it was his first time travelling on the bridge and into Tweni, and he was unaware of the roadworks.

A delivery man, Hajieh Allieh, who was involved in an accident on the Mzimkhulu bridge says he is much better compared to yesterday (Thursday).

He admits he had a ‘nightmare of a Thursday’ after his nasty incident on the bridge.

Roadworks and then an accident, involving a delivery man, Hajieh Allieh caused traffic to backup on the Mzimkhulu bridge yesterday (Thursday).

“I was taken to hospital but luckily I had no severe injuries, unfortunately my rented bike is worse off,” he said.

Allieh said he was unaware of the roadworks taking place on the bridge. He had tried to brake but accidently crashed into the back of a bakkie.

“It was my first time travelling over the bridge and into Tweni that day, and I was unaware of the roadworks.”

He now has to find about R7 000 to fix the bike, so he can go back to his job of delivering items.

“There is nothing I can do, but luckily I am still alive,” he added.
