Truck accident near Harding claims driver’s life

In a separate accident, a vehicle rolled in Albersville.

A truck driver died in a single-vehicle accident between Izinqoleni and Harding on the N2 at Tuvukhezi yesterday (July 1) at about 16:00.

Gavin Black from Mi7 said ambulance crew arrived on scene, and examined the driver of the truck and declared him deceased on scene.

In a separate incident, Lazer 911 attended to a crash scene on the Albersville Main Road near Port Shepstone at about 21:00.

According to Winston Lemon from Lazer 911, the vehicle lost control and rolled. However, the driver escaped with a few minor scratches.

In the process, the vehicle also took out the electricity box leaving several houses in the dark.

However, an electrician came out and restored power to the affected area.

Lemon said the driver of the vehicle was arrested by Ray Nkonyeni Law Enforcement for driving under the influence.
