Fitness fundraiser this Friday
Everyone is welcome to attend the fitness morning in Scottburgh.
The final countdown has begun for the Ultimate Dance Fitness (UDF) Women’s Day Fit Morning Zumba fundraiser.
This highly anticipated event is being held in support of Illovo Mother of Peace Orphanage and Umzinto Primary School.
It will be held at Scottburgh Country Club this Friday (9th). Registration is at 07:30, and the event is expected to commence at 08:00.
It will include a Zumba session, kickfit, obstacle course challenge, tug-o-war, music, prizes, a raffle and an auction.
Zumba instructor Shereen Paul has been eagerly waiting for the fundraiser.
“Our UDF team and our local supporters look forward to this event all year long, and we cannot wait to help more organisations,” said Paul.
At the orphanage, there are between 60-80 children who are in need of toiletries, bedding, upgrading of facilities, doctor visits and more. It is also believed that the orphanage assists homeless children.
In terms of assisting the school, UDF was made aware of the dire need to upgrade facilities at Umzinto Primary.
A total of R22 300 was raised for various beneficiaries last year, and the team is hoping to do even better this year.
“Doing our bit for the community brings us so much joy, and we are happy to be able to help the school and orphanage this year.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the fitness morning. It costs R120 per person, with free entry for ages 12 and under.
