About three weeks ago, multiple fires broke out on Bermuda Way, Scottburgh.
Many locals claimed a culprit had been allegedly seen throwing petrol bombs on the trees and grass throughout the night.
These fires were controlled by firefighters, concerned community members and farmers, but it seems as if the culprit has returned.
In the past week, there have been reports of more fires in the same area, particularly during the early parts of the morning.
However, this time around, no one knows how these fires are being started or has seen anyone purposefully start them.
Thanks to alert residents and motorists, these fires are reported the minute smoke is smelt or flames are spotted, and the situation is controlled before it worsens.
Now, Bermuda Way is an eyesore with many burnt trees and grass. Also, it has become dangerous as the branches have been breaking off from the burnt trees.
