Tidy Towns team is busy beautifying Shelly Beach to Margate

The Tidy Towns team has welcomed spring with all 'cylinders firing' to make the suburbs look appealing.

The team from Tidy Towns Shelly Beach to Margate is currently on an inspiring mission.

They have been busy removing the huge amounts of debris washed onto Margate beach from the recent high tides and new moon.

“A lot of plastic has washed up onto Margate beach, so it has given us an opportunity to collect and remove it. It’s an ongoing clean-up,” said Stephen Herbst of Tidy Towns Shelly Beach to Margate.

Herbst said teams are also busy sprucing up and creating eye-catching gardens in high traffic areas in the suburbs of Uvongo, Shelly Beach and St Mike’s.

“We are planting aloes and plants that relate to our coastal environment,” he added.

This comes as they prepare for the summer (holiday) season.

“The Uvongo team is busy making their little village incredible. The St Mike’s garden project is truly looking amazing, and there is another secret on the way. Watch this space for more information…” – said Herbst.
