WATCH: Highly intoxicated driver nabbed in Sea Park

Officers gave chase and managed to get the vehicle off the road.

An intoxicated driver was stopped in his tracks by security officers.

While on routine patrols in Casuarina Road in Sea Park late last night, officers from Lazer 911 Rapid Response units were alerted by a crashing sound.

On investigation, officers discovered a vehicle had crashed into a road barrier near the Sea Park intersection.

Robbie Pypers, senior area manager of Lazer 911, said the motorist then started driving again – in an attempt to get away.

Officers gave chase and managed to get the vehicle off the road.

“The driver then tried fleeing into the bushes but Lazer 911 officers swiftly arrested the driver,” said Pypers.

He was found to be highly intoxicated and was immediately taken back to the scene and detained until Saps arrived.

He was then handed over to Saps.
