Air support helps find body of missing man [WATCH]

An inquest was opened at Saps Mzamba.

Great lengths were taken to recover the body of a man (20) who allegedly drowned last Saturday.

Warrant Officer Gawie Nel and Warrant Officer Rommel da Rosa from Port Shepstone Search and Rescue and the K9 unit managed to recover the body of the missing man in the Umtamvuna River on Monday this week.

An Airtrack 101 helicopter, piloted by Daniél Ludick, was used in the recovery as it transported the policemen at least 12km upriver to retrieve the body and return to the Pont in Port Edward.

An inquest was opened at Saps Mzamba.

Airtrack 101 lands on a rock during the search.
