Yellow anacondas a first for conservation centre
They will be kept safe until they are ready to move on to another conservation facility.

Scottburgh’s world-renowned conservation centre, Crocworld, has successfully bred 21 yellow anacondas.
No need to panic just yet, as these babies are way smaller than the ones found in the Amazon in the ever-popular Anaconda movie!
The yellow anacondas are the first of their kind to be born in one of the centre’s breeding programmes.
They will be kept safe until they are ready to move on to another conservation facility.
Animal curator Busani Mthiyane said that these interesting reptiles give birth to live young and are a lot smaller than their green anaconda cousins, with males growing up to 2.4m in length.
“Yellow anacondas are solitary and territorial; are excellent swimmers and spend a lot of time in or near water; and are ambush predators, lying in wait for their prey to come close before striking,” he explained.
