Woman falls off cliff in Uvongo – search continues

The search for the woman continued this morning.

The search for a woman, who fell off from an outlook point on the edge of a cliff at Uvongo, has been under way since yesterday (Wednesday).

According to eye-witnesses, a group of people were sitting at the point on the cliff.

It is believed the woman (40) then slipped and fell down into the water which was rough and dangerous.

A woman allegedly slipped and fell into the lagoon.

Darius Heenen from Wolf Security said a volunteer from Tidy Towns alerted everyone to the incident.

K9 Saps Search and Rescue, Wolf Security, NSRI Shelly Beach and paramedics responded.

Heenen said they searched for a hour and a half yesterday afternoon, with NSRI flying its drone.

“I was back on the beach at 07:00 this morning (Thursday) to continue with the search. I flew my drone over the falls, and the surrounding areas but nothing has been seen so far,” he said.
