No sign of woman who fell off cliff

An extensive search has been underway for a woman who fell off the edge of a cliff at Uvongo last Wednesday.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of people were sitting at the point on the cliff.

Darius Heenen from Wolf Security said a volunteer from Tidy Towns alerted everyone to the incident. K9 Saps Search and Rescue, Wolf Security, NSRI Shelly Beach, and paramedics responded.

Heenen said they searched for an hour-and-a-half last Wednesday afternoon, with NSRI flying its drone.

“I was back on the beach at 07:00 the next day to continue with the search. I flew my drone over the falls and the surrounding areas, but I have seen nothing so far,” he said.

Saps Ugu District Communications said police officers conducted an extensive search the following days again, using search dog Djini, with negative results.
