Diesel tanker recovery under way on N2 near Scottburgh
Traffic has been diverted onto the R102.
Earlier today (March 10), a diesel tanker overturned on the N2 southbound, before the Scottburgh offramp.
The tanker is believed to have been carrying about 38 000 litres of fuel.
It has blocked both lanes on the N2, resulting in motorists using the section of grass alongside this route as a means to bypass the accident scene.
Local authorities found this risky and RTI was able to divert traffic onto the R102.
There are various personnel still at the scene where the diesel is being offloaded into another tanker. Thereafter, the N2 will be cleared off the overturned tanker and reopened.
