Power outages: Eskom sends teams to respond
Eskom's restoration efforts are under way as heavy rains causes widespread power outages across the province.

Widespread electricity outages have been reported across the province following yesterday’s heavy rains and storms, which have severely impacted Eskom’s networks, causing structural damage in some areas.
Teams from the utility provider have already responded to several faults, and all available resources are on the ground working to restore supply as quickly as possible.
Areas that have been severely affected include Ingagane, Colenso, Nottingham Road, Underberg, Mandini, Ixopo, Melmoth, Mtubatuba, Eshowe, Stanger, Greytown, Wartburg and Harding.
KwaZulu-Natal is under Orange Level 6 and Yellow Level 4 weather warnings for heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms, flooding, strong winds, and hail from Thursday into Friday, which may hinder Eskom’s restoration efforts in some areas.
They appeal for patience from their customers, as some areas are inaccessible due to infrastructure damage.
