Many chuckles shared at Shafts’ bring and braai

The group welcomes new members to join their monthly socials.

A group of friends came together last Sunday to enjoy an afternoon of good times.

Laughter and chatter was heard echoing from the group’s bring and braai gathering under the trees at the Uvongo Tennis Club.

The non-profit group, Self Help Association for Seniors (Shafts), enjoys a bring and braai on the last Sunday of the month.

All jokes are Barry Willis and Heather van Rooyen.

They also meet every third Thursday of the month for a ‘fun event’.

The group will meet for some Easter fun at the Uvongo Tennis Club hall on Thursday, April 17, at 09:30.

Nicci Lavery of the Shafts says the group provides a wonderful opportunity for individuals to get out, socialise and meet new people.

“We celebrate birthdays or anniversaries or offer support if someone has lost a partner or loved one,” she said.
