Bowling greens dug up: Residents called to protest

Young and old are called to join the mass protest at Southport Bowling Club tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon.

The desecration and destruction of greens at the old Southport Bowling Club have caused an outcry from residents.

Concerned residents are calling on all Ward 16 residents to rally on the bowling green for a mass protest action tomorrow (April 8) at 12:00. All are invited.

The current state of the Southport bowling greens.

Nazir Shaikh, the ratepayers’ association chairman of the north cluster, said he had received numerous complaints from residents who are horrified with these developments.

The residents are raising numerous issues, asking:
1. Was there proper consultation with local residents?
2. Were there public meetings to discuss these issues?
3. Was the public allowed to submit objections?

This is a developing story.
