Police retrieve illegal guns and dagga

It is alleged that one of the guns was stolen in a housebreaking in Miami Road in Hibberdene.

A man (32) found in possession of a 9mm black pistol and four rounds of ammunition was arrested recently.

It is alleged that the firearm was stolen in a housebreaking in Miami Road in Hibberdene in early April.

Security officers arrested the man and handed him over to Hibberdene police last Wednesday.

The man was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, suspected stolen property, and housebreaking implements.

Last Sunday, on receiving a tip-off, Umzinto police arrested a man (34) at Inverugie after he was found in possession of a 9mm Glock and 15 rounds of ammunition.

He was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The case was postponed to a later date for further investigation.

On a separate note, Msinisini police responded to information of a person selling dagga at Ndelu location.

Police arrested a man (39) found to be dealing in dagga. He was subsequently charged and fined.
