One fatality in N2 Scottburgh accident

The driver of the second vehicle was seriously injured.

Earlier today (May 14) there was a serious collision between two light motor vehicles on the N2 near Scottburgh.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded to the scene and discovered one driver in a critical condition, and trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle.

While under the care the of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics, the driver was extricated by the Umdoni Fire Department.

“Due to the nature of his injuries, the AMS helicopter was activated to transport the patient to a specialised facility for further care,” said Samantha Meyrick, IPSS Medical Rescue Media.

“Despite efforts of the Casualty Trauma team, the driver died shortly after arrival.”

The driver of the second vehicle sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a nearby facility by road.
