Permanent posts for senior Umdoni managers
The managers have been wished well by council.
The Umdoni Council has concluded the process of employment of three general managers, converting their acting posts to permanent work contracts.
Thando Mketsu was appointed as the head of finance (CFO) and Bongani Ntsebeshe was appointed as general manager community services – both with effect from April 1.
Khongi Molohlanye has been appointed as general manager corporate services with effect from May 1.
Umdoni Municipality’s communications manager Sphelele Cele stated that the appointment of the general managers followed an extensive assessment process in line with Section 56 of the Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000.
“These senior managers are no strangers to these positions as they have been acting senior personnel since the second quarter of the current financial year,” she said.
“Furthermore, the newly appointed general managers possess a wealth of experience in local government and coupled with their academic qualifications are the most suitable candidates to lead these departments.”
The acting municipal manager, Nandi Dlamini, said the conclusion of the appointment of the senior managers will create a conducive environment for the municipality to ensure long-term stability of the institution, thus significantly improving operations and service delivery.
