Wabi Sabi expo opens at Margate Art Museum

It runs daily – Tuesdays to Fridays from 08:30 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 08:30 to 14:00.

The opening night of the Japanese Wabi Sabi and Minimalist Art Expo at the Margate Art Museum was a resounding success last Thursday, drawing art lovers to celebrate this unique showcase.

The innovative layout surprised many, combining fine art paintings with bonsai trees, minimalist sculptures, kintsugi, nature-inspired pottery and ikebana floral arrangements.

Home-simulated settings, stories and poetry added to the experience. Patrons described the expo as ‘uplifting’, ‘fascinating’ and ‘a breath of fresh air for the South Coast’.

The Wabi Sabi Expo runs until August 23 during museum hours – Tuesday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:00, and Saturdays, 09:00 to 14:00. Entry is free and holidaymakers are encouraged not to miss it.
