Temples celebrate Varalakshmi prayer this Friday

Services will be rendered to the Divine Mother and the tying of the strings will be done at the various temples this Friday.

Several South Coast temples will observe Varalakshmi prayer this Friday (8th).

* The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple invites devotees to a spiritual Maha Lakshmi Vratham prayer with hawan at 18:00. Devotees can bring their offerings for prayer. For more details, contact Kevin Govender on 083 3753876.

* Port Shepstone Tamil Association invites all its Lakshmi Vratham at the Sivan temple at 18:30. Lakshmi strings will be tied by the officiating priest Guru JS Sharma. For more details, contact Radha Moodley on 071 4835568.

* The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir (Lower Albersville) invites all to its Varalakshmi Vratham prayer at 18:00. The mandir will also observe Gita Week from this Sunday (10th) to August 14. Weekend prayers start from 15:00 and weekdays prayers from 18:00. Daily discourses, recitals and bhajans will be rendered. Krishna Janmashtami will be observed on Friday, August 15 at the temple at 18:00. For further information, contact Veena Lakhan on 067 0688282. * The Shree Raam Nayayan Mandir invites the public to join in the celebration of Gita Week, from this Sunday (10th) at 15:00 to Saturday, August 16 at 17:00. Daily inspiring discourses will be held at the mandir in Dairy Road, from August 11 to 15 at 18:30. Supper will be served daily. Contact Sew on 083 4498438. The temple society will host a fundraising high tea at the HICC on the Ravine in Umbango on August 31, featuring ‘Bash with Tash’. Tickets cost R150 per person.
