South Coast Presidents Biking Council organised a successful bike ride in aid of South Coast Hospice, from St Michael’s Beach to Margate Sasol Garage, on Sunday morning.
Organiser Abe Cronje said bikers do what they do best by standing together as brothers and sisters to support local charities.
The monies raised go directly to hospice.
In 1990, Barbara Hall, the then fundraiser of South Coast Hospice recorded the first Motorbike Ride For Remembrance as a fundraising event.
Over the years, the bikers have been a valued support to the organisation which cares for patients living with terminal illnesses.
“This is a valued partnership, where the Presidents Council guides us on where each annual event starts and finishes,” said Cronje.
He added that BT King became the fundraiser in July 2012, and that they look forward to continuing a good and valuable relationship between bikers and hospice.
He added that bikers, fellow biking enthusiasts and members of the public that would like to join in are welcome to attend a prayer on Margate main beach every Saturday at 07:00.
There is also a breakfast run every Sunday, from Margate Sasol Garage at 09:00.
