Taxis will be back on South Coast roads tomorrow (Tuesday, August 26)

There's good news for beleaguered commuters.

It has been agreed that taxis will be back in operation in the Ugu District tomorrow.

This comes after taxi owners, the Department of Transport (including Operation Shanela) and Ray Nkonyeni Municipality officials met to resolve today’s strike.

The decision was taken by all parties involved, and it has been agreed that the issues under discussion would be resolved by tomorrow.

The meeting was held at the council chambers this afternoon, where RNM speaker Phumlani Gumbi chaired the meeting.
