Creston learners help conservancy remove invasive plants
Creston College learners and teacher in charge, Lerato Msiwa have been fully supportive of the alien invasive plants (AIP) removal.
Creston College learners have been hailed for their support in the alien invasive plants (AIP) removal at the Bendigo Nature Reserve in Southport last Saturday.
Dee Dickens of the Bendigo Conservancy said the learners were educated about the detrimental effects of invasive plants in the reserve as well as removing them through hard labour.
“No invasive plant matter leaves the reserve, to ensure they do not spread. Most importantly, no herbicides are used. Creston learners and their teacher in charge, Lerato Msiwa have been fully supportive,” said Dickens.
She added that the conservancy is most grateful for all the assistance, adding that the AIP removal is becoming evident.
