Primary school orals prove entertaining and insightful

The Willing Hands Oral Performance Contest 2025 was held at Naidoo Memorial Primary School in Craigieburn, Umkomaas recently.

Thirteen primary schools entered the competition, with almost 120 learners taking part from Grade R to Grade 7.

Thanks were extended to those who contributed in making this function a success – the principal and staff of Naidoo Memorial Primary School, staff and learners of participating schools, staff who volunteered as judges, members of The Willing Hands, and Shippy Reddy and Vino Moodley of Moodley’s Spar Craigieburn.

The feedback from the judges was that the competition was of a high standard with entertaining and insightful presentations.

RESULTS
Grade R: 1 Ezinne Uduma (St Francis), 2 Bereket Erkobo (Umzintovale), 3 Kwandokuhle Hlongwane (As Salaam).

Grade 1: 1 Ivangezwi Cezula (NMPS), 2 Ndalo Zamisa (As Salaam), 3 Akeel Mbhele (St Patricks).

Grade 2: 1 Khloe Reddy (St Francis), 2 Enzokuhle Mnguni (St Patricks), 3 Zenande Ngcobo (Naidooville).

Grade 3: 1 Anthea Reddy (NMPS), 2 Lisakhanya Mthembu (Scottburgh Primary), 3 Isabella Govender (Umzinto Primary).

Grade 4: 1 Mahdiyyah Ally (Umzintovale), 2 Kiona Naicker (Scottburgh Primary), 3 Siphosami Zwane (Umtwalume Primary).

Grade 5: 1 Mika Patchai (Scottburgh Primary), 2 Elihle Mngomezulu (St Francis), 3 Asiphe Zuma (Braemar).

Grade 6: 1 Shekinah Pather (NMPS), 2 Judah Maseko (Umzintovale), 3 Israel Soobramoney (St Francis).

Grade 7 (team competition): 1 NMPS, 2 Umzinto Primary, 3 Umzintovale.
