Heavy rains forecast for South Coast with level 4 warning

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall on Wednesday, September 24, affecting several areas, including the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.
Heavy downpours are expected to bring a number of impacts, including flooding of roads, bridges and settlements, potential damage to property and infrastructure, and life-threatening conditions in fast-flowing or deep water. Authorities have also warned of possible displacement of communities and hazardous driving conditions.
Residents are urged to take precautionary measures to stay safe. These include:

Staying indoors and avoiding unnecessary travel.

Not attempting to cross rivers or swollen streams.

Abandoning vehicles and moving to higher ground if trapped in rising floodwaters.

Moving valuables and livestock to higher ground in flood-prone areas.
