Marburg pastor appeals for help to complete church building

The congregation of El Shaddai Fellowship is planning to raise funds to complete the roof and other projects.

For the past 12 years, Pastor Johnson Khan has been trying to build a church for his congregation to call home. The church, El Shaddai Fellowship Port Shepstone is on Crescent Street, Marburg.

Since 1998, through rented properties, the church has been a place for South Coasters to come together and worship as part of a strong, loving community with like-minded congregants.

It is a registered non-profit and public benefit organisation. Now, Khan and his congregation are in the process of raising funds for the completion of the roof and other projects.

As a qualified builder in his his younger days, Khan purchased the open stand property in 2013, and laid the bricks with the help of friends.

Current expenses to complete the roof is about R400 000, which the church does not have.

“Owning a church facility means that we can meet more frequently and host more programming and better serve my congregation and our community. If God has given me a vision or a dream of our own church building, there are ways to pursue that goal,” said Khan.

Members of the church appeal to the South Coast for support. “Your financial gift to the church will help us keep the spirit of service alive,” said Khan.

As part of its fundraising drive, the church will host a gospel concert on November 29.
Anyone able to assist, can call Khan on 073 3122320.
