Join the Great Southern Bioblitz at Southport Beach
Nature lovers are invited to join in and help record local biodiversity along the coastline.
Bendigo Conservancy Group invites residents and visitors to join a fun and educational morning at Southport Blue Flag Beach (in front of Captain’s Anchor) this Sunday (26th), from 10:00 to 12:00.
Everyone is invited to come take photos of local plants and creatures as part of a global biodiversity initiative, the Great Southern Bioblitz, which runs from October 24 to 27. The aim is to build a biodiversity database for the KZN South Coast while contributing to citizen science.
There will be a short introductory chat, after which participants can explore and record their observations using the free iNaturalist app.
Guidance will be available for anyone who needs it.
The cost is R50, which includes a delicious wors roll and one free entry into a lucky draw.
