Learn more about vervet monkeys at upcoming talk in Munster

A painting by acclaimed artist Adele Joubert will be auctioned to raise funds for Monkey Helpline.

A special talk aimed at helping locals better understand vervet monkeys will take place in Munster on Saturday, November 8, from 14:00 to 17:00.

Hosted by Monkey Helpline founders Steve Smit and Carol Booth, the event promises an informative and engaging afternoon dedicated to learning about these intelligent and often misunderstood creatures.

Monkey Helpline, a registered NPO established in 1995, is devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and protection of vervet monkeys.

Through its work, the organisation hopes to promote compassionate coexistence between humans and wildlife.

The talk will explore common misconceptions about vervets and offer insight into their behaviour, intelligence and role in the local ecosystem. Guests will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of how to live harmoniously with monkeys.

Drinks and light snacks will be served, and a painting by acclaimed artist Adele Joubert will be auctioned to raise funds for Monkey Helpline.

Entry is free, but donations are welcome, with proceeds going to support the organisation’s rescue and rehabilitation work.

As Jane Goodall once said, “We all need to do our bit for the environment. No matter how small it may seem, it will help to make our world a better place to live in.”

Those interested in attending are encouraged to book in advance due to limited space. To reserve your spot, contact Anna on 082 3469678 or Ingrid on 083 3094646.
