South Coast Wine Festival in Southbroom celebrates Pinotage and Afrikaans

The theme is 'Afritage', in celebration of the 100th anniversaries of both Pinotage as a cultivar and Afrikaans as an official language.

The South Coast Wine Festival takes place at Riverbend Crocodile Farm, Southbroom this Friday (14th) at 17:30.

Organiser and owner Howard Kelly said that more than 30 prominent wine estates had confirmed participation, with some 150 quality wines to be presented.

The theme is ‘Afritage – Celebrating 100 years of Lekker’ in celebration of two iconic South African milestones, namely the 100th anniversaries of both Pinotage as a cultivar and Afrikaans as an official language.

A Pinotage Masterclass will allow serious wine lovers the opportunity to taste some of South Africa’s Absa Top 10 Pinotages and emerging Pinotages,

This will be presented in two sittings of 60 people each.

Afterwards, a DJ will play and the dance floor opened.

Ticket price for the festival is R350 per person; for the Pinotage Masterclass tickets are R80 per person on a first-pay basis.
