Scottburgh police bids farewell to station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters

Colonel Ralph Ruiters, who served as station commander of Scottburgh Saps since November 2017, has transferred back to his hometown Kokstad.

He resumed duties on November 3 and bids farewell to the mid-South Coast community.

During his time at Scottburgh, he was passionate about making a difference to policing and improving service delivery.

He was always present and part of imbizos where he was both approachable and available to the needs of the communities he served.

Ruiters proved to be a strategic thinker in facing crime threats and challenges to policing at Scottburgh.

With over 37 years of experience, Saps Ugu District management is confident that Ruiters will continue to work hand-in-hand with local law enforcement and his members in making Kokstad a safe and secure town for residents.
