New station commander for Scottburgh police
Colonel Paul Thwala has an open-door policy, and looks forward to working with his colleagues.
Colonel Paul Thwala has taken the reins at Scottburgh Saps, now serving as the new station commander.
He was the station commander at Kokstad Saps under the Harry Gwala District, and has loyally served in the VISPOL environments in KwaNdengezi, Folweni and Chatsworth as well as at the Tactical Response Unit in Umlazi.
He was appointed in 1993 and has over 30 years of service in policing.
As per the Saps Ugu District office, his vast experience and numerous training courses make him more than adequately qualified to serve and protect the communities of Scottburgh.
Thwala is formerly from Durban and wanted to be closer to home, hence his transfer.
Although he does not classify himself as a fitness fanatic, he ensures that he remains fit at all times. When off duty, he enjoys watching sport and attending church.
Thwala has an open-door policy, and looks forward to working with his members and making sound friendships, while focussing on the needs of the local communities.
He is confident that in partnership with all stakeholders and local law enforcement, they can make a marked impact on crime in Scottburgh.
