Melville farm attack survivor Dewald Beetge is showing steady improvement

Soon, he will undergo intense physiotherapy to help him regain strength and return home.

Dewald Beetge (22) is showing daily improvement under the care of his lead doctor.

His father, Karel, said Dewald will soon be transferred to Entabeni Rehabilitation Hospital, where physiotherapy will be intensified to help him regain strength and return home.

“Dewald is recovering and improving every day,” said Karel. “We want to thank each and every person for their prayers and support. God bless.” Dewald was critically injured in a farm attack at his home in Melville on October 15. He had just returned home when he was confronted by intruders and shots were fired. Dewald was struck five times and airlifted to a Durban hospital, where he has made a miraculous recovery.

Karel confirmed that the R30 000 reward for positive information leading to answers in Dewald’s shooting remains in place.
