Port Shepstone Sai Centre to observe Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s birthdate
He preached love, compassion and more so – seva – selfless service.
As the world gears up for the centenary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s birthdate this Sunday (23rd), the Port Shepstone Sai Centre, together with 1200 centres worldwide will lovingly open their doors for a vibrant 100th birthday extravaganza that promises music, devotion, dance and community unison. The celebration aims to commemorate and honour the life and works of a divine master who took leave of this earthly plane on April 24, 2011.
Sai Baba was born in Puttarparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India. From childhood, he was spiritually inclined and was capable of performing miraculous events. The people of the village and his class mates sensed that he was no ordinary being. At 14 he announced that He is the re-incarnation of Shirdi Baba, a revered saint and began his mission. He established the spiritual abode, Prasanthi Nilayam in 1950.
He built hospitals, clinics, schools, universities and mobile dispensaries which were made available to the public free of charge. In His lifetime, he provided drinking water to over 900 villages. All these projects were undertaken by his charitable trust fund.
He preached love, compassion and more so – seva – selfless service. All his disciples follow a simple creed: love all, serve all.
