The ever popular Scottie’s Panto presents, There’s no such thing as a good Grinch, a fun filled Christmas pantomime for all.

The show will be held at the Italian Club in Umkomaas on December 12 and 13 at 18:00, and on December 14 at 14:00.

Entry costs R20 per person, and two gifts (one for your child, and one for charity).

Scottie’s Panto has been sprinkling Christmas magic across the community since 2013.

Founded by Wendy Janssens, the Panto began with a simple but heartfelt dream: to ensure that every child – especially those who might not otherwise celebrate – could feel the joy, wonder and sparkle of Christmas.

Over the years, Fran Reynolds has filled the stage with imaginative, laughter-filled scripts, while Bev Binder has always been the quiet hero behind the scenes, keeping the sound as smooth as Santa’s sleigh ride.

And of course the devoted volunteer cast has brought the stories to life…even if a few elves occasionally needed an extra reminder of their lines!

Children from local schools have joined this magical world year after year.

Scotties Panto fairies and elves have grown up over the years – some now parents themselves. A few of the original four year old fairies are still involved to date, helping to keep the sparkle, joy and passion alive.

Entertaining the community and sharing the warmth of the festive season with all ages is at the heart of Scottie’s Panto. But nothing compares to the moment each year when they visit children who never expected a gift – and watch their faces glow with surprise and happiness. Those smiles are their greatest Christmas reward.

This year, the tradition proudly continues under a new and enthusiastic committee: Kirsten Macbeth, Rod James, Nicole Smith, Mel Adley, Sarah Bezuidenhout, Yuvrika Gurunand, Amy Ingram and Dom Bennetts, together with the incredible backstage team and ever-dedicated cast.

To the loyal patrons, Scottie’s Panto says thank you. Your support helps create the magic, spread the joy and keep the Christmas spirit shining bright.
