Zulu king installs inkosi of KwaNyuswa in Umdoni
Inkosi Mbuso Praisegod Ngcobo has been serving the community since 2014.
The KZN community congratulates Inkosi Mbuso Praisegod Ngcobo on his official installation as Inkosi of KwaNyuswa.
This culturally significant ceremony was held in the Mgangeni area (under Umdoni) recently, and was presided over by His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.
He was joined by the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Thulasizwe Buthelezi, amakhosi, members of the Royal Household, mayors, dignitaries and community members who gathered in large numbers to show support for the newly installed Inkosi.

King Misuzulu emphasised the importance of formalising traditional leadership roles to ensure that amakhosi are fully empowered to execute their duties without fear or administrative limitations.
“Installation is crucial as it empowers amakhosi to lead confidently and execute their responsibilities legitimately,” he explained.
Inkosi Ngcobo, who has been serving the community since 2014, expressed deep gratitude to King Misuzulu, his family, and the KwaNyuswa community for supporting him throughout his leadership journey.

He highlighted that the King’s presence not only affirmed his mandate, but also played a pivotal role in restoring unity within his own family.
“The visit by iSilo today did more than complete the rituals of leadership – it healed divisions within my own family that arose after I took the throne,” said Inkosi Ngcobo.
“Today, my family stands united once again, and for that I am grateful. This installation marks the continuation of our mandate to serve, unite and uplift the people of KwaNyuswa. I am deeply honoured by the presence of His Majesty and all amakhosi who supported this significant day.”
At the ceremony, King Misuzulu also blessed the KwaNyuswa clan and said that he wishes to strengthen the presence of the Zulu monarchy in the Ugu district.
“I look forward to having a royal residence on the South Coast, as part of strengthening our connection with the people across all regions of the kingdom,” he said.
MEC Buthelezi led the provincial government delegation and reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting traditional leadership structures.
“Inkosi Ngcobo has long served his community, and we will continue to work with him and all amakhosi to advance service delivery, unity and cultural preservation,” he said.
