Community joins forces for cemetery clean up in Park Rynie
The aim was to restore dignity to this sacred space to ensure loved ones can continue to rest in peace.
Councillors Alan Cutten (Ward 10) and Dana Daniels (Ward 15) put together a team to clean the Park Rynie cemetery last Saturday morning.
The aim was to restore dignity to this sacred space to ensure loved ones can continue to rest in peace.
The DA team thanks the individuals from the Park Rynie community that joined in on the day and lent a helping hand.

With their assistance, the team managed to clear and clean a section of the cemetery that was particularly overgrown and appeared to have been used as a dumpsite, as well as a few gravesites.
Numerous black bags were filled and kept aside for the municipality to collect this week.

Thanks also goes to SNAP for the loan of their tools. SNAP is a neighbourhood association dedicated to combating crime with the support of patrollers who act as the eyes and ears for Saps and security companies. Additionally, SNAP contributes to the local community by clearing overgrown vegetation and bushes, ensuring that all relevant authorities can easily monitor and detect any potential illegal developments.
After this recent clean up, the team stated that more work is to be done in this space and that they will be returning soon.
