NSRI Station 32 Port Edward hosts open day

The day includes a live first aid and CPR demonstration, giving families practical lifesaving knowledge they can use in an emergency.

The public is invited to step inside the world of sea rescue at National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Port Edward’s much-anticipated open day at North Sand Bluff in Port Edward on Saturday, December 20, from 10:00 to 13:00.

The event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at how the volunteer-run station operates.

Visitors will be welcomed by the Station 32 crew, who will guide them through the base and share insight into the highly skilled work they do on and off the water.

The day includes a live First Aid and CPR demonstration, giving families practical lifesaving knowledge they can use in an emergency.

The team will also be on hand to share essential water safety tips – a timely reminder as the festive season brings more people to the beaches and rivers.

Guests can explore rescue craft, chat to volunteers about their training and callouts, and get a close-up look at the equipment used in real emergency situations.

It’s an opportunity to learn, engage and celebrate the dedicated men and women who respond any time, day or night, to keep the coastline safe.
