Join an exciting line-up of nature activities in Southbroom
From guided nature walks and tidepool adventures to a community beach clean up, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while connecting with the beautiful environment.
The Southbroom Conservancy has released an exciting line-up of nature-based holiday activities, offering residents and visitors a chance to explore, learn and give back to the environment this December.
The conservancy partnered with the local community police forum for a beach clean up at the Southbroom main beach tidal pool today (Thursday), starting at 08:30.
A guided tidepool walk takes place this Friday (19th), hosted by marine biologist Paul Fleishack. The cost is R100 for adults and R50 for children under 12, with all children required to be accompanied by an adult. Bookings are essential.
A guided morning nature walk led by botanist Anne Skelton takes place this Sunday (21st). The walk cost R50 per person and is open to participants aged 14 and older. Bookings are essential.
Festive cheer will be added with Carols in the Park at Eyles Park, next to the tennis club on December 21, starting at 17:30. Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs, blankets and refreshments. The cost is R50 per person, with children under 12 free. Music will be provided by James and Annie, and the tennis club bar will be open.
The programme concludes with a guided geological rock walk on Tuesday, December 23, led by geologist Paddy Norman. The walk costs R50 for adults and R20 for children under 12, who must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings are essential.
