The summer holidays have arrived, and the festive season is officially under way in Scottburgh.

This marked the beginning of a period of heightened tourism activity and community celebration across the area.
The launch was received by locals and holidaymakers alike, and promoted Scottburgh which is always a popular holiday destination.

Speaking at the festive season launch, the mayor emphasised the dual importance of enjoyment and safety during this time.
She noted that Umdoni’s beaches, cultural sites and natural attractions are central to the municipality’s identity and economy and must be enjoyed responsibly.
“Our tourist attractions are the pride of Umdoni. As we welcome visitors from near and far, we must ensure that safety remains paramount,” she said.

“By working together, we can guarantee that every holidaymaker experiences the joy of our coastline and community.”
Also at the event was cultural performances and jumping castles for the little ones.

Umdoni reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the festive season is marked by both enjoyment and responsibility, positioning the region as a safe and welcoming destination for all.
It was announced that a series of measures are in place to safeguard everyone during the holiday period. This includes enhanced lifeguard presence at Umdoni beaches, increased law enforcement visibility to manage traffic and public safety, and collaboration with emergency services to ensure rapid response capability.
