Khethokuhle Day Care Centre and Preschool Founder and Principal, Yoliswa Cele, celebrated with her young graduates at Mojo Ward 23 Community Hall in Boboyi recently.
Cele is the wife of Thuthukani Cele, a popular reggae musician who worked with reggae music star, Lucky Dube, for many years.
She started the day care centre in 2005 for the early development of the children in the community.
Cele said she loves working with children to reach their full potential. “I decided to develop myself first, before I started the centre, and help children grow, develop and graduate to the main stream education system.”
She graduated with a Level 4 Early Childhood Development Certificate and opened the centre. “I thank the parents who gave me all the trust to teach their children. We had a lovely graduation ceremony,” said Cele.
On the day, parents were treated to several performances. “We teach the children a variety of aspects, including to express their cultures. At our year-end celebration and graduation ceremony, we allow them to perform cultural activities. There were presentations, arts and dance. We shared delicious food, drinks and cakes.”
She thanks her colleagues and teachers, Phumzile Shozi, Bawinile Gumede, Thembeka Mvubu and Makhosi Hadebe for their hard work and dedication for many years.
