Lights in the Forest delights in Umtentweni
The wet weather did not deter the organisers.
Lights in the Forest was bigger and better – and wetter – this year, without a doubt.
Hosted by the Living Word Hibiscus Church, the bushy area on their property came alive with stunning displays.
Best display was won by Christeen McGovern, hers being based at the entrance.

Locals and holidaymakers alike took the time to stroll through the forest, stopping at the various displays to soak up the atmosphere.
The weather did not really come to the party, especially the deluge on December 21, but the displays survived and despite the main tarpaulin being blown away, things continued.
Pastor Wilko Kunz thanked all those who attended on the different evenings – it ran from December 19 to 26 – and hoped they enjoyed the experience.
He also thanked those who rallied after the rain to keep things going. “The generosity and support from the community was fantastic,” he said.
