Southcity College celebrates top matrics

The school achieved a 100% pass rate.

Southcity College’s Class of 2025 has once again upheld the school’s strong academic tradition, achieving an exceptional 100% matric pass rate.

All 42 learners successfully met the requirements for entry into tertiary education, with 41 attaining Bachelor’s degree passes and one achieving a Diploma pass.

Top achievers who attained an aggregate of over 80% are: Saron Guta (8 subject distinctions), Monique Nel (6 subject distinctions), Ava Anthony (5 subject distinctions), Caitlin McKinnon (4 subject distinctions), Megan Sole (4 subject distinctions), Matthew Michau (4 subject distinctions) and Avuyile Mbebe (3 subject distinctions).

Notably, Ava Anthony also achieved a remarkable achievement by placing in the top 1% of IEB candidates nationally for Business Studies.

Of all subject results, 53% were awarded A or B symbols, while an outstanding 78% of results exceeded 60%. This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance and hard work of both learners and teachers.

Principal Wendy Lourens congratulated the Class of 2025, noting that these outstanding results are the product of exceptional teamwork. She acknowledged the dedication of the teaching staff, the support of parents and the determination of the learners themselves.

As a Christian institution, Southcity gives thanks to God for His guidance and blessings on the school and its learners, and for the continued success of the school community.

The Class of 2025 is wished every success as they embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys.
