Join majorettes and cheer crew in Scottburgh

Coaches are on the lookout for primary (Grades 1-7), high (Grades 8-12), and tertiary (18+) to be part of the team.

It is once again that time of the year where Scottburgh’s Mid South Coast Crew recruits for hip hop, pom dance, and majorettes for the team.

Coaches are looking for primary (Grades 1-7), high (Grades 8-12), and tertiary (18+) people to join the team – both males and females are welcome.

The Mid South Coast Crew practises mostly on Mondays and Wednesdays in Scottburgh, which costs only R100 per month.

Majorettes practise at the Scottburgh Country Club.

They compete on certain Saturdays in KZN (Durban) as well as attend Nationals Week if qualified – this year it will be in Gauteng during the July holidays.

Majorettes combine dance and drill movements to make up displays and marches. It also involves a number of props such as flags, pom-poms, batons, maces and rifles in some teams.

Performance cheer, also known as dance, consists of team routines where competitors perform choreographed dances in three different categories – pom, hip hop and jazz – accompanied by high-energy music.

To find out more about the sport and enrolment, contact coach Wiezy (Liezel Jooste) either on WhatsApp or call 081 5105042. Alternatively email midsouthcoastcrew@gmail.com
