Gamalakhe woman missing for five years
Her family is seeking information on her wherabouts.
It has been more than five years that Zamandosi Cele disappeared, but her family of Esgedleni in Gamalakhe is hopeful that she is still alive.
According to her aunt, Bathobile Cele, Zamandosi was last seen at a funeral in November 2020.
Since then, there has been no news of her whereabouts, and the family is concerned about her wellbeing.
“We have reported the matter to the police and have been looking for her since then, but we have had no positive information,” said Bathobile.
However, this is not the first time that Zamandosi has gone missing.
“On previous occasions, she would disappear, but not for this long. Sometimes, she would be away for a year, but always returned home. This time round it has been too long,” added Bathobile.
It is believed that she has lived in Johannesburg, but this cannot be confirmed.
The family is pleading for her safe return. They urge anyone who may have seen her, or know of her whereabouts to help them locate her.
Zamandosi who was born in 1986, is described as short in height and fair in complexion. Also, her right arm has burn marks and she has difficulty using it.
Khehla Cele, the missing woman’s uncle, said of concern is that nowadays women are kidnapped and killed.
“We need to know if she is alive or not.”
